Best Outdoor Drinking Spots

SFR's 2013 Bar Guide

Santa Fe has its share of quaint adobe hobbit holes, perfect for cold winter nights. But when the days grow warm with sunshine, it's a shame to hide from the fresh mountain air, sweet scent of lilacs and green oases of mountain aspens and river-lining cottonwoods.

La Casa Sena (125 E Palace Ave., 988-9232), with one of Santa Fe's oldest and most magical courtyards, is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine among flowers, vines and venerable old trees. For an elevated perspective on the heart of Santa Fe, Marble Tap Room (60 E San Francisco St., 989-3565) offers a variety of local brews and a balcony view of the summertime festivities on the Plaza below. And if, on a stroll with your four-legged friend, you grow parched, both Cowgirl BBQ (319 S Guadalupe St., 982-2565)—where the music blasts and the margaritas flow—and Upper Crust Pizza (329 Old Santa Fe Trail, 982-0000)—with its beer garden nestled among both the nation's oldest church and house—have dog-friendly outdoor seating.
