SFR's 2015 Summer Guide

he heat is on, so sip on some prickly pear lemonade. Dust off your hiking boots. Discover that trail. Take that dip. Climb that peak. Pitch that tent. Beat that path. Walk that dog. Open that frosty one. Smile that smile. Read that last chapter. Start that first one. The time is now.

Can you feel it? Chub rub season is officially here and with it all the fun-filled activities that are sure to create lasting memories, fuel epic hangovers and add to enviable Instagram feeds (#blessed).

For many, summer signifies tracks that should be discovered, stretches of river that should be paddled and (why not?) a cool icy treat. In putting together this issue, we tried to be as all encompassing as possible. No longer burgeoning, the now established Railyard district offers enough activities to satisfy even the most discerning culture vultures; start filling up your calendar. Want to rack up some mileage and increase your New Mexico outdoorsman cred? Or if family friendly is the name of the game, we've got you covered.

Root, root, root for our homeless football home team, and hop on a hog and head into the open road. Get chummy with a Taos folk hero, and if you're idea of fun in the sun involves haggling and dreaming of one day completing your Hummel figurine collection, this story is right up your alley.

Whatever your idea of a perfect summer is—and we have some of your answers on the next page—there's enough SPF for everyone. Oh, and also some refreshing cocktails. So, cheers to you summer, and all your glorious 90-something days.
