New Mexico Reports 126 New COVID-19 Cases

State adds five additional deaths as hospitalizations decrease to 99

New Mexico health officials today reported 126 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 203,330. The health department has designated 190,087 of those cases as recovered.

Bernalillo County had 39 cases, followed by San Juan County with 14 and Doña Ana County with 10. Santa Fe County had eight new cases.

The state also announced five recent deaths; there have now been 4,273 fatalities.

As of today, 99 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*

Currently, 65.7% of New Mexicans have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 56% are fully vaccinated. In Santa Fe County, 74.5% have had at least one dose and 64.1% are fully inoculated.

  • A female in her 80s from Bernalillo County
  • A male in his 50s from Doña Ana County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions
  • A female in her 60s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions
  • A male in his 70s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions
  • A male in his 80s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions

According to a health department news release, previously reported numbers included 18 cases that have been identified as duplicates (three in Bernalillo County, two in Chaves County, five in Doña Ana County, two in McKinley County, two in Otero County, two in San Juan County and two in Sandoval County)—these have now been corrected. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
