New Mexico Reports 1,927 New COVID-19 Cases

New Mexico health officials today reported 1,927 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 135,166. Of those, the health department has designated 58,917 as recovered.

Bernalillo County led with 487 new cases, followed by Chaves County with 293—a more than 700% increase from yesterday, when it had 36 new cases. Doña Ana County had the third highest number of new cases: 259. Santa Fe County had 58 new cases.

The state also announced 29 additional deaths, including one from Santa Fe County: a woman in her 80s who was a resident of the Vista Hermosa facility in Santa Fe; there have now been 2,272 fatalities statewide.

As of today, 811 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*
