Phone number posted on county website connects to sex hotline

Apparently Santa Fe County is spicing up their telephone services.---

The local government office lists two phone numbers on its website for people to call if they need to get a hold of the county, both a local number and a toll free 1-800 number. The toll free number, 1-800-820-2689, leads to the sounds of a perky female voice accompanied by music best suited for a porno film.

"Welcome to America's hottest talk line!" the female voice says. "Ladies, to talk to interesting and exciting guys free, press one now! Guys, hot ladies are waiting to connect waiting to connect to you—press two now!"

She continues in a sexy tone for one last pitch:

"Ladies, press one now! Guys, press two now!"

County spokeswoman Kristine Mihelcic says county offices were unaware that the sex number was posted on its website. She quickly removed it from the county's website when SFR alerted her about it.

SFR didn't venture to press one or two, but for others feeling more daring can try it out.
