Although it's been closed for five months, the last remains of the Borders bookstore at Sanbusco Market Center were shaved off today.

Sanbrusco property manager Karen Mondragon and her lackey Jim Gill sawed down the pusher for the front door that enters into what is now just the Lucky Bean café. It used to say "Borders." Now it's blank. Gill plans to reattach it back to the door.
"We're going green baby!" Gill told SFR. "We're reusing it! We're saving the Earth!"
The Sanbrusco Borders went bankrupt in February. The remaining Borders branch on Zafarano Drive has tough times ahead. The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based chain decided to liquidate on Monday, a move that will put 10,000 people out of work. Final out of business sales are expected to last through September. Borders is the nation's second-largest bookstore chain.
