Tecolote Café Closes

Bye, bye, bakery basket

Bad news for New Mexican food fans as Tecolote Café announced today via Facebook that it would be its last. SFR spoke briefly with co-owner Matt Adkins, who didn't wish to comment at this time, but here's a look at that post:

Tecolote opened on Cerrillos Road in 1980 and remained a family business during its 39-year run. In 2014, Adkins and his wife Katie, the daughter of founders Bill and Alice Jennison, closed the original location on Cerrillos Road following a lease dispute with its former landlord, but reopened the following year in the St. Michael's Village West strip mall on St. Michael's Drive with the same signature bakery basket side items that definitely made tortillas the suckers choice.

This is a developing story and SFR will update with further information when possible.
