Santa Fe’s Center for Contemporary Arts of Santa Fe announced today that Candace Tangorra Matelic, Ph.D. has been appointed the role of executive director starting today.

Previous to her new role, Matelic led the Santa Fe Children's Museum through a critical nine-month transition. She has a Ph.D. in Organizational Studies, a MA in Museum Studies, and a BFA (Fine Arts, American Studies). She also teaches distance courses for the University of Victoria, Johns Hopkins University, and UNM.

"[The] CCA is a beloved jewel in Santa Fe's crown of amazing  cultural organizations, and is poised for an expanded level of meaningful public service,” Matelic says in a press release. “I am looking forward to working with the board, staff, volunteers, members, patrons, artists, lecturers, workshop leaders, teachers, and community partners."
