Updated: Treasure Trail?

By Rani Molla

In addition to my every-Friday gallery-opening marathon, I'm going to check out Native Treasures Indian Arts Festival. Though the jury is out for me on large-venue art sales, one can't really argue with an event that proclaims to have over 200 artists from 40 tribes and pueblos—nor can one argue with the accompaniment of food and music.

This should be a good chance to see what's going on in the Native art scene beyond what is sometimes expected of a market with a lot of set expectations on it. PR person Jennifer Marshall promises "a cool emerging artists scene." We're gonna check it out, with pictures forthcoming—or you can just go and check it out for yourself.
