As CSF Turns-The Screen Edition

By Patricia Sauthoff
The rumors that The Screen was closing down started in late December when the College of Santa Fe canceled its film intensive program. At that time Brent Kliewer, CSF professor and The Screen's director of film programming, said in an e-mail only, "Not true."

Unfortunately, it turns out that it's all too true. According to several Facebook messages from CSF students and a clerk at The Screen, as of  January 31 Santa Fe will be down one independent theater. SFR has learned that just today employees were informed that the theater would be shutting down at the end of the month. It's two upcoming films, JCVD and A Secret, are still slated to open Jan. 16 and 23 respectively.
