Detour

I just got back from Columbus, Ohio. I had a funnel cake and delicious pizza, and I enjoyed humidity. Did you know that Columbus is the third most populous state capital? And that the NFL had its first headquarters there? And Wendy's. Wendy's was founded there.

Let's FORK!

Leases must be up—it's closing season.

Omira Bar & Grill closed for renovations awhile ago. Those renovations apparently included changing the entire concept of the restaurant. On June 10, the space was rechristened The Detour Kitchen (1005 S St Francis Drive, 930-5660). The menu seems to be a classic American spread; there's cod, burgers, penne. Prices hover in the $12-$25 range.

Thai Café has closed its downtown location on W San Francisco Street. Their voicemail promises a new location opening sometime in June a few doors down from Trader Joe's. You can still visit the second location of

Thai Café & Noodle Treats (3482 Zafarano Drive, 424-1818)

.

I reviewed Cuba Fe (1406 Third St., 204-4221) a few weeks ago. They have added a delicious Cuban eggs Benedict to their menu. It features lechon and bacon. It's pricey at $15, but is so worth it. They also now do half-Cubanos with a salad for $8.

Santa Fe is known for being an early-to-bed kinda town. Where are your favorite late-night spots?

See you next week,
Michael
