Weekend Picks: Hot Days, Hotter Nights

Can you even believe we live in a town where Meat Puppets play for free, artists explore the multi-verse and skateboards become works of fine art (for a good cause)? We sometimes can't either, and yet, it's all out there just waiting for you to get going. Crack open your beers, place your earplugs and do that thing wherein one rubs their eyes to make sure what they're seeing is real—it's realer than you know (we can say realer if we want) and oh-so-fine.

This three-day festival is an exciting way to discover Santa Fe’s culinary treasures as well as rich music, art and cultural heritage. Santa Fe’s "most spirited" pestival features interactive seminars and tastings by globally recognized experts, cocktail parties, celebrity chef and shaker challenges, people who love to eat and drink well and lastly, new business opportunities for those in the beverage industry.

Over 50 artists do their thing on skateboards with proceeds from this exhibit benefitting nonprofit mentorship program Future Men Project, which provides local middle school boys with mentors. Through June 30.

Featuring the core duo of Ashley Edwards and Jesse Ogle, Hello Dollface travels as a 2-10 piece live band, most often touring as a power quartet kicking the sound with gutsy, fresh, soulful, raw energy.


This group exhibit presents works by Lea Anderson, Rita Bard, Crockett Bodelson, Shirley Klinghoffer and Jody Sunshine includes interpretations of alien worlds and life, like Bard's characters who embark on other-worldly adventures and humorous musings on life in this world in Crockett's small drawings.

See what life was like on the Camino Real, Santa Fe Trail and Spanish Trails and learn about the people, goods and livestock that came and went on the arteries of the Southwest. Also experience traditional ranch activities like sheep shearing, wool dyeing, spinning and weaving. Plus a fiber arts marketplace, bread baking and crafts for children!

In the summer of 1924, John Sloan and Will Shuster went out sketching. While lounging in the orchard, Sloan suggested that they paint each other and Shuster agreed.
