Today, New Mexico health officials announced 126 additional positive tests for COVID-19, bringing the state total to 1,971. McKinley County, which now has the second highest number of cases following Bernalillo, accounted for the most new cases today: 53.
A governor's spokeswoman confirms to SFR today's figures include some that were not reported yesterday due to technical delays in some laboratories' reports to the state, but those were not broken out of today's figures.
The state also announced three new fatalities, two in San Juan County, a female in her 70s who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions; and a man in his 80 who was hospitalized, had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of Life Care Center of Farmington. Quay County also had its first death: a man in his 70s who was hospitalized out of state and had underlying medical conditions.
