Box Tales

Coming to a street corner near you!

(Helen Maringer)

The lights were tripped—rather fantastically—on Friday evening, making SFR's Project Art Box a partially dark, somewhat wet and totally unforgettable experience.

With the aid of flashlights and flickering, faux candles, attendees were forced to get up close and personal with the 20 re-imagined boxes that composed the show.

People got downright tactile, feeling the relief in pieces like Prakash's meticulously pinstriped box and Rob Krumholz' creation, covered in truck bed liner.

Several highlights graced the unique night—among them Mayor Pro Tem Rebecca Wurzburger's reading of the official proclamation for "Santa Fe Reporter Day," along with a yet-to-be-fulfilled promise of flowing whiskey for our deeply troubled staffers.

Moreover, Project Art Box brought steadfast members of Santa Fe's artistic community—the highbrow and the low—into one eventful night.
