News, May 5: “Lighting Up Santa Fe”

Highly Competent

[Santa Fe Public Works Director] Regina Wheeler is basically one of the few highly competent people running our highly dysfunctional city right now. She totally loves dark sky. Yet she is being trashed.

Online, May 20: “Obelisk Charges Toppled”

No Justice

What a bunch of misguided fools. So [people] pillage, vandalize and destroy public property in front of everyone. Not to mention assaulting police and their biggest concern is “community healing.” No sense of justice in this town. Justice and public safety in Santa Fe is non-existent!

Fan Mail

I just wanted to pass along kudos for the Morning Word to you and the intrepid journalist doing the Morning Word newsletter [Julia Goldberg]. Even though we live in Corrales, we eagerly read it each morning. Really appreciate her info and sense of whimsy, especially through COVID. Just perfect!!

CORRECTION

Our story from May 12 about artist Conor Flynn gave the wrong year that Flynn moved to New Mexico. It was 2003. It also misidentified the specialty for Steven Prins, who is an arts conservator. SFR regrets the errors.
