Mind Body Spirit

Have you spent many moments with your mind lately?

Is your body a temple or an indestructible dumpster? A place to make a political stand or the way to manifest self-love—or both?

Can you feel a spirit moving or are you stiff inside?

Stretch it all out.

The four essays that make up our Mind Body Spirit issue are windows into personal tales about these interconnected concepts. We're not about to lecture you on better living, but rather crack open a bit of ourselves to see what's in there.

First, a mental meld with music and a glimpse into knowing what you don't know as Charlotte Jusinski takes on mind. Then, in a wrestling match of sorts, Alex De Vore writes about what he wants to put into his body (vegetables) while Jeff Proctor needs to tell you what isn't supposed to be there (cigarette smoke). Finally, Tiffany Curtis explores how the C-word (as in, Christiantity) can still carry spirituality today.

The publication coincides with SFR's fifth annual Mind Body Spirit Expo, and we cordially invite you take some time with whatever you are pondering, feeling or seeking and visit more than 30 participants from the community. Like these writers, they're thinking about healing, exercise, nutrition, counseling, meditation and more.
