Meow Wolf Vortex Moves to Denver This August

Santa Fe arts corporation Meow Wolf is taking the Vortex music festival up to Denver this August 5, 6 and 7 for its third incarnation, and the lineup is looking bigger than it ever has before. Started in 2018 right here in New Mexico, the last time Meow Wolf hosted the fest was 2019—stupid COVID—and in Taos, but the company’s Vice President of Marketing Didi Bethurum tells SFR that “We’ve decided to take the festival to a new location this year as new locations opened and we have expanded our audiences.”

This year’s headliner’s are pretty huge, too, and include acts like Toro y Moi, Duke Dumont, Pabllo Vittar, Channel Tres, 100 gecs, Bladee, Dixon, Sad Night Dynamite, Bob Moses, Boy Harsher, Neil Frances and Maya Jane Coles. Numerous others are also slated to play on two stages across three days, and attendees can also expect food trucks, drinks, immersive art, in-audience performers and all that Meow Wolf stuff for which the company is known.

Meow Wolf will partner with promotions powerhouse Live Nation Colorado this time out, too, with that company’s President, Eric Piritt, saying in a release that, “We are excited to partner with the amazing team at Meow Wolf to continue to push the limits of the live music experience here in Denver.”

There has been no location announcement just yet, though the release notes the event will not take place at Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station perma-installation which opened in Denver last year. No word on camping at this Vortex, either, as was the norm at the Taos version of the festival.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 29 at 10 am through vortex.meowwolf.com (which actually leads to a Ticketmaster page) and run $69 for a single day to $189 for a three-day pass.
