New Mexico Reports 255 New COVID-19 Cases

The state also announced seven more deaths and 134 hospitalizations

New Mexico health officials today reported 255 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 197,447. The health department has designated 178,380 of those cases as recovered.

Bernalillo County had 65 new cases, followed by San Juan County with 56 and Doña Ana County with 29. Santa Fe County had five new cases.

The state also announced seven additional deaths; there have now been 4,058 fatalities.

As of today, 134 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*

Currently, 57.7% of New Mexicans have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 42.4% are fully vaccinated. In Santa Fe County, 67.5% have had at least one dose and 46.2% are fully inoculated.

  • A female in her 70s from Chaves County who had underlying conditions
  • A female in her 50s from Doña Ana County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions
  • A male in his 60s from Doña Ana County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions
  • A male in his 70s from Eddy County who was hospitalized
  • A male in his 80s from Otero County who was hospitalized
  • A male in his 40s from Sierra County who had underlying conditions
  • A male in his 80s from Valencia County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions

  • Genesis Silver City Care Center in Silver City

Statewide cases

According to a health department news release, previously reported numbers included 26 cases that have been identified as duplicates (four in Bernalillo County, three in Cibola County, one in Curry County, six in Doña Ana County, four in Lea County, three in McKinley County and five in San Juan County)—these have now been corrected. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
