New Mexico COVID-19 Cases: 25,283

New Mexico health officials report 246 new COVID-19 cases and three additional deaths

Over the weekend, New Mexico health officials reported 246 new COVID-19 cases: 139 on Saturday and 107 on Sunday. There have now been 25,283 total cases thus far.

Bernalillo County led with new cases: 53 of them, followed by Chaves County.  with 43. Lea County had 30 new cases over the weekend. Santa Fe County had nine new cases over the weekend: five on Saturday and four on Sunday.

The state also announced three additional deaths—two on Saturday and one on Sunday— from Bernalillo and Lea counties. There have now been 770 fatalities.

As of today, 66 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*

State news releases over the weekend reported that previously reported numbers had included one case in San Juan County that was identified as a duplicate and four cases that were not lab confirmed: one in Bernalillo County and three in Lea County. These have been corrected for the county totals, which are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
