New Mexico health officials today reported 216 new positive test results for COVID-19—39 fewer than yesterday—bringing the statewide total so far to 20,600, of which 8,139 have been designated as recovered by the health department.

Bernalillo led the state with new cases, 49 of them, followed by Doña Ana County with 34 new cases and Curry County with 21. Santa Fe County had 12 new cases, bringing the total number here so far to 561, with the health department designating 219 of those as recovered.

The state also announced seven new deaths from Bernalillo, Doña Ana, San Juan and Socorro counties. There have been 642 total fatalities.

As of today, 152 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
