New Mexico COVID-19 Cases: 9,933

Health officials report 88 new cases and seven more deaths

New Mexico health officials today announced 88 new positive test results for COVID-19, bringing the statewide total of cases so far to 9,933.

Bernalillo County had 27 new cases, more than twice as many as McKinley County, where only 13 were reported.

Santa Fe County had five new cases and now has had a total of 178 cases since the pandemic's start; of those, 106 have now been designated as recovered.

Statewide, as of today, 156 people are hospitalized and the health department has designated 4,217 cases as recovered.*

The state also reported seven new deaths, three each in McKinley and San Juan counties, and one in Cibola County. New Mexico has now had 447 fatalities.

  • A male in his 80s from Cibola County who was hospitalized, had underlying conditions and was a resident of the Good Samaritan Society facility in Grants.
  • A male in his 50s from McKinley County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
  • A male in his 70s from McKinley County who was hospitalized.
  • A female in her 80s from McKinley County who had underlying conditions and was a resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor facility in Gallup.
  • A male in his 50s from San Juan County who had underlying conditions.
  • A female in her 70s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
  • A male in his 90s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and a resident of Beehive Homes in Farmington.
