New Mexico COVID-Cases: 7,026

Health officials report 93 new cases and three more fatalities

New Mexico health officials today announced 93 new positive test results for COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases so far to 7,026.

San Juan, McKinley and Bernalillo counties had the most new cases: 26, 25 and 13, respectively. Santa Fe County has two new cases.

As of today, the health department has designated 2,522 cases as recovered and reports 216 people are hospitalized.*

The state also reported three new deaths, bringing the total statewide fatality figure to 320. All three were in their 50s, from McKinley and San Juan counties.

New cases

  • 13 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Chaves County
  • 16 new cases in Doña Ana County
  • 1 new case in Eddy County
  • 1 new case in Lea County
  • 25 new cases in McKinley County
  • 2 new cases in Roosevelt County
  • 2 new cases in Sandoval County
  • 26 new cases in San Juan County
  • 2 new cases in San Miguel County
  • 2 new cases in Santa Fe County
  • 1 new case among individuals held by federal agencies at the Otero County Prison Facility
  • 1 new case among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility

New fatalities

  • A male in his 50s from McKinley County who had underlying conditions.
  • A female in her 50s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
  • A male in his 50s from San Juan County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.

Per a news release from the governor's office, the following previous reported cases have been identified and corrected for the statewide total:Nine duplicates: one in Bernalillo County; one in Doña Ana County; one in Luna County; two in McKinley County; one in Sandoval County; two in San Juan County; one in Taos County). One case in San Juan County that was identified as not being lab confirmed and one case in Santa Fe County that has been determined to be an out-of-state resident. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
