Advertising Intern

GOT PEOPLE SKILLS? Earn commission and get on-the-ground training this summer as a Santa Fe Reporter Advertising Intern. Learn the art and science of multimedia sales, including our online events and news website and in our flagship weekly print publication. Work directly with the associate publisher and advertising department to develop strategies.

YOUR MISSION: Target events and destinations that need exposure in both the Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Ideal candidates will make a 6-8 week commitment beginning in May/June; work in Santa Fe at least two days per week.

News Intern

Internships at the Reporter are a proven method to learning about journalism, photo-journalism, news and culture reporting, web development and social media management. You won't earn a salary, but we're happy to work with college students for course credit. Be sure to include the time period that you are interested in and would be available.

Culture Intern

Detail-oriented, self-starting creatives are the best candidates for the position that also involves writing short features for print and online. Culture interns should have h a critical eye for music, film, the arts, even hipster fashion. This on-the-job training can also include news and culture content, including helping to write culture calendars, previews and reviews, news stories, research assignments and group projects. Previous interns have taken on reporting for cover stories and have been hired for longer-term positions at the paper. Course credit available. Six week commitment minimum. No salary.

Production Intern

Are you an HTML/CSS wizard, a Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign artist? If you're looking for real-world experience using your digital arts talent, come work with the Santa Fe Reporter.

The production department can always use an extra hand. Duties may include updating web pages, sending email newsletters or designing print and web advertisements. Some data entry work also involved. Candidates for this unpaid position must be available at least one day per week, and be willing to commit to a minimum of 50 hours of work. Upon successful completion, documentation can be provided for course credit.
