How to get your event listed in the Events Calendar
1. Deadlines – To be considered for publication, event notices must be received in writing by 5 p.m. Tuesday, two weeks before publication.
2. Category – Identify your event's category: Music (Jazz, Rock, Pop, Blues, Rap, etc.), Performing Arts (Theater, Classical Music, Dance, Opera, etc.), Visual Arts (Openings, Exhibitions, Art Lectures, Art Discussions, etc.), Books (Signings, Readings, Writing Workshops), Food or Movies.
3. Two copies – Send two copies of your press release (which should contain the pertinent who, what, where, when, why, how much). They can be mailed or dropped off in the same envelope.
4. Submission– Submit your listing by mail, fax, e-mail, in person or online. For your convenience, you may use the downloadable submission form below, but the above information must be included, no matter how you submit it. Address press releases to:

5. Photos/artwork – Photos and illustrations are very helpful. We can work with color photos, transparencies, or slides or with digital images as long as they are in jpeg, tif or eps format. Do not send originals. Photographs should be clearly labeled (include photo credit). Images will not be returned unless accompanied by self-addressed stamped envelope.
6. Advertising – Remember that advertising plays no role in the decision as to whether your event will be listed in the Culture section. However, if an event is being advertised in the paper and highlighted in the calendar in the same week, we prefer artwork that is different from that in the ad.
7. Selection – Please keep in mind that the Culture Section is a selective listing. It is, by design, an opinionated guide to local events in the arts. Only a selection of those items submitted for consideration can be published.
