Very great points and discussion overall. I have always admired Terrence McKenna for his works on psilocybin, but no one has ever really challenged or questioned him. The only other well-known names related to ‘shrooms are either comedians or people who really have no real basis to be trusted.]]>

I remember Venus and the Lion back before Maggie joined (way before they called themselves Venus and the Lion) and listening to them today is like listening to a completely different group. These guys are on point! I did a two-day tour with them last year, and they were honestly the highlight of the show for me.]]>

Linda, that was a pretty good letter as far as psycho bigot rants go. I would like to welcome you to the 21st century where people like you are now on the wrong side of history, and your antiquated opinions are actually just wrong. Please keep your hateful thoughts to yourself.]]>

We received far more letters to the editor about the upcoming city election than we could ever hope to print. Here's a collection of them. Please add yours in the comments field.

The Santa Fe Youth & Family Center Consortium, d/b/a Zona del Sol, would like to correct an error concerning necessary services on the south side of Santa Fe. The article included a photograph of the 5.4-acre Master Plan for Zona with a caption indicating that there is only one completed building on the site.]]>

How embarrassing. New Mexico has a golden opportunity to pull itself out of debt and be one of the leading states in our country to legalize marijuana, and we have senators like [Clemente] Sanchez who stand in the way. This is incredibly sad news and I hope the people keep notes on the senators who put their bias before the will of the people.]]>

Like many non-profit nation-wide, Girls Inc. struggled financially during a difficult economic climate. With restructuring and cost-cutting measures--including making some difficult programmatic decisions—we were able to weather the storm. ]]>

It occurred in the beautiful Arroyo Seco Valley between Española and Santa Fe. The Gonzales family acquired some property off of US 84/285 in a residential area. They wanted to erect a large cell tower on it. Javier excused himself from the commission vote on this issue.]]>

A particular change, by the new Director John F Jones, seems to discriminate on the basis of age and sex. The long-standing fitness requirements were graded by age and gender. The new requirements, put in place by Jones, eliminated that grading, which, especially in the case of “push ups” makes it almost impossible for women.]]>

The actual events were overly dramatized (think all four SEALs jumping off a cliff in slow motion with an explosion behind them).]]>

But I was honestly hoping for more distinction with Javier Gonzales. Along with myself, many of the DJ’s, musicians, producers and representatives of ‘nightlife’ in this city are fully supporting Javier, including Paul Feathericci, Joe Ray Sandoval,...]]>

Thanks to its former director James Lane, profiled by Laura Paskus, the purpose of the Department of Game and Fish should now be clear to everyone. While not all directors openly deride “tree-huggin’ hippies,” they all have the same agenda. The department, sometimes known as “Maim and Squish,” manages wildlife on behalf of hunters and ranchers.

William L Baker is of course the go-to guy for those who oppose thinning. Baker’s doctorate is not even in a relevant field, his PhD is in geography. Latching on to Baker to justify an anti-thinning, anti-prescribed burn position is no different than the oil and gas goons latching on to a bought-off lunatic fringer to disprove global warming.]]>

When you buy into wind energy you buy into the annihilation of protected species. This fact has been covered up with bogus studies for decades. One project at a time, the wind industry is systematically killing off our rare bird and bat populations. The wind industry hides their carnage by routinely rigging their studies.]]>

PBS executives promised to deliver to me a list of the precise points in the film that they felt represented “bias,” or questions of “fact,” and I promised to work with them to fix any problems. But PBS has still never delivered any specifics whatsoever of their complaints about the film.]]>
