The Thaw

8 pm, Apr 12, 2013 | $12 general admission; $10 students & seniors

Laurie Williams went through a sexual crisis. Naturally, she wrote a play about it. The Thaw, written and performed by Williams, is a brutally honest account of her own sexual awakening. She re-enacts the toils and tribulations of growing up during the era of excess: sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. Instead of finding liberation, however, she found confinement. By sharing her most intimate experiences in front of an audience, Williams embarks on a mission to break all taboos. No territory goes uncharted. At the same time, she hopes to inspire her audience—to be their shamanic guide toward the release of all sexual inhibitions. A writer and actress who also boasts a PhD, Williams is something of a triple threat. Consider this inspirational exhibitionism: Deepak Chopra meets Vagina Monologues
