Psychothermia

Burn, Baby, Burn!
For a midweek pick-me-up, travel to the Underground and experience the raucous, hard rock madness that is Psychothermia. The Deftones-inspired band played with fire (literally) in the video for their debut album Fall to the Rising Sun, and emerged with scorched clothing and a burning desire to record: “The fumes may have been inspiring,” they recount on their website. After a successful SXSW run, where they played two showcases—one hosted by Land Shark Promotions Studio and the other by the Texas Metal Collective—the band is heading back to their native San Diego and spreading their hybrid brand of hard rock and metal in as many towns as they can along the way. The Santa Fe stopover will be their ninth show in eight days. Albuquerque’s the Ground Beneath opens. (Loren Bienvenu)
