Snow Poems Night of Illumination

6-8 pm, Feb 22, 2013 | Free
{venue_title}

Poetry literally surrounds us. Until Feb. 26, that is. The temporary Snow Poems installation claims the windows of over 40 Santa Fe buildings. The all-women Cut + Paste Society stenciled local poets’ work on 60 windows in temporary, fake snow. For the full effect, join in the exhibition’s closing event, Night of Illumination. During the event, Snow Poems locations keep their lights on until 8 pm, while visitors guide themselves or follow local poets Michelle Laflamme-Childs and Jamie Figueroa through this literary wonderland. After that, have fun alongside Molly Sturges’ Hear Here Spontaneous Choir as Sturges spontaneously orchestrates community members through SP excerpts. Sweets and hot cider are provided, but no talent is required. Just courage. (Tor Travis)
