MoCNA opens three new exhibits. Stands with a First: Contemporary Native Women Artists shows contemporary Native Women's upheaval of conventional artistic and intellectual roles. The solo exhibition by Interdisciplinary artist Kade L Twist, For Instance, Look at the Ground Beneath Your Feet, examines the linguistic synchronicity made between to two real-estate agents during a conversation. The exhibit focuses on the social representations of land commodification. The third exhibit, Rosalie Favell's Facing the Camera (2008- present), shows Favell's ever increasing portraiture of the Native American arts community's best loved but least documented artists. In conjunction with its three new exhibits, MoCNA shows the experimental documentary that depicts the art and life behind five female skateboarders and artists involved with the collective Apache Skateboards.
