The most stalwart locavores can be overwhelmed by green legislation, and even champions of environmental politics slack in terms of where they buy their produce. At least they all can drink.

La Casa Sena, Green Drinks and the Santa Fe Alliance bridge the green gap with an evening of locally sourced conversation, food and politicians, including environmentally active Democrats state Rep. Brian Egolf and Sen. Peter Wirth from Santa Fe, and Sen. Tim Keller from Bernalillo.

Green Drinks and SFA Program Coordinator Kathleen Chambers tells SFR, “I think it just brings more awareness about the issues in Santa Fe. With the changes that [Gov. Susana] Martinez has already done regarding the environment, a lot of people are feeling a little out of control in that realm.”

In case those changes have left a bad taste in your mouth, La Casa Sena locavore chef Patrick Gharrity prepares snacks (accompanied by eco-friendly wine) for purchase. “[Green Drinks] is a way to get environmentally minded people together, and get to know people in your community who are doing really cool things,” Chambers says.
