Two days before the start of national Sunshine Week, Democrats and Republicans in the New Mexico Legislature teamed up to send an important message.

This year, state lawmakers put renewed energy behind both pro- and anti-environment bills—and in the waning days of the 2013 legislative session (which ends March 16), several key measures are still wending their way through the House and Senate.

New Mexico needs jobs. The state has lost roughly 40,000 jobs over the past five years; last year, even as the rest of the country recovered, New Mexico lost another 4,800 jobs.
