American Idol Comes to Santa Fe

Do you have what it takes? Probably not!

Oh. My. God. Auditions for American Idol XV (the press release had Roman numerals, so don't think it was our choice to throw them in) are coming to Santa Fe! That's right, vocal nerds, as of Friday, June 26, you'll be able to pop on over to the Railyard and see if all that vocal training has worked out or if those kudos from your friends and family who came to see you sing at karaoke that one time are warranted. Here are the things you need to know:

-First of all, this is the "fan favorite bus tour audition" process, which presumably means there will be a bus and you probably won't meet whatever washed-up singers and musicians host this thing. Drag, right? Maybe not. IF you're a great singer, you may be selected!

-Showing up early is probably wise. According to the information we've received, 7 am doesn't sound too crazy.

-You can actually audition online, but unless you're, like, Beyoncé or William Hung, you might actually fall into the Who Cares? category.

-All dates are subject to change, so you might want to sign up for audition alerts here.

-Keep a thick skin, maybe? Simon Cowell might not be around anymore, but since Santa Fe is a weird bubble, you may just think you're more talented than they do.

-I am open to suggestions for what song I should audition with. I'm thinking "Unbreak My Heart" or "Ain't No Other Man."
