It’s St. Paddy’s Day in Santa Fe so whip out your green–underwear of course–and hit the town with SFR’s top five list of places to get your Irish on. FYI, the Republic of Ireland is not responsible for embarrassing Internet pics of your festive debauchery on March 18.

Broom Dust Caravan blows the top off of Madrid’s Mine Shaft Tavern tonight, and yes, ladies, that is a 6 feet tall leprechaun doing the moonwalk on the heated deck. OK, maybe not, but you get the idea.

Mine Shaft Tavern, 2846 New Mexico 14; 6 pm, no cover.

Irish beef stew, stout brew and good-time tunes with Edmund Gorman. No St. Patrick’s Day would be complete without some good-old-fashioned piping from special guest appearance Two Piping Hot Chicks.

Duel Brewing, 1228 Parkway Drive, Unit C; 6-8 pm, no cover.

Think you got what it takes to be the next Bono? Get it, because he’s Irish? Let’s hear you belt it at the Cowgirl’s karaoke night. Bring your friends, wear green and speak in an accent.

Cowgirl, 319 S Guadalupe St.; 9 pm, no cover.

If you associate Ireland with parties in castles, dashing knights, busty maidens and swinging swords, then get medieval tonight with several screenings of Game of Thrones, likely hosted by local legend George RR Martin himself.

Jean Cocteau Cinema, 418 Montezuma Ave.; 7 pm, free.

Euro-born Tiho Dimitrov infuses his rock-a-blues style with old-world sound sure to get your St. Paddy’s Day hopping and your good times rolling.

El Farol, 808 Canyon Road; 8-11:30 pm, no cover.

Oh, and regardless if you're feeling lucky or not, don’t forget that SFPD is out in full force tonight, with saturation patrols kicking off at 3 pm. The county offers wayward party goers a discounted cab-ride for only $1 by calling (505) 438-0000.

Happy leprechaun hunting!
