Eyelashes were meticulously applied, lips were glossed and junk was tightly tucked last night as four first-time drag queens took to Courtyard by Marriott stage.
It was a packed house, as contestants from as far as El Paso did their best to wow the crowd with their lip-synching skills, charm with their charisma and sissy that walk at the sixth annual Closet Ball.
Laden with musical numbers, tributes and appearances by queens of years past, this year’s ball raised over $5,000 for Southwest CARE Center’s AID & Comfort Fund.
“I feel like a million dollars; like I could take over the world,” the night’s victor, Muffy Chiffon told SFR moments after her coronation.
“It’s such affirmation that I can do anything that I can set my mind to,” she continued. “Achieve that vibration.”
