Special exhibit unveils today

On Sunday, Jan. 19 Santa Fe’s artistic family lost one of its own.

David Loughridge, avid photographer and integral part of local art collective Meow Wolf passed away at the young age of 33, a victim of cardiac arrest.

“David was known for his unmatched kindness and generosity, sense of humor and work ethic,” Meow Wolf’s Vince Kadlubek tells SFR. Kadlubek’s words echo across the community, with every person who crossed paths with Loughridge describing him as such.

Today, a special one-week-only tribute exhibit in Loughridge’s memory goes up at Canyon Road’s GVG Contemporary. The show features examples of Loughridge’s body of work, including a never-before-seen series of artistic nudes featuring Meow Wolf members.

The night also doubles as a a tribute to a friend, son and uncle lost all too soon.
