Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center will break ground in March on a 15,234 square-foot facility on Santa Fe's Southside, the hospital announced.
The Christus St. Vincent Entrada Contenta Health Center will be located at Cerrillos Road and Herrera Drive, a mile from the I-25 interchange and will house facilities for urgent care, primary care, behavioral treatment, diabetes care and more, says the hospital.
"It will have primary care physicians for patients who choose to use the facility," reads a hospital statement, "as well as lab, X-ray and ultrasound for the entire community."
"This is a full health center to serve a growing population with limited access to health care in their neighborhoods," CEO Bruce Tassin says in the statement.
The $7 million to pay construction of for the new medical center comes from the nonprofit co-owner of the hospital, SVH Support, and the Christus expects its doors will open in about a year.
