Weekly Word: SFR's IPRA Troubles and Mike Lilley

By Joey Peters
wide-weekly-word

This week, the Weekly Word speaks with Mike Lilley of the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and also delves into SFR's recent public records troubles with the governor's office.

Lilley talks about the large number of bills currently in the Legislature that either create new crimes or add new punishments to existing penalties. His response? New Mexico for the most part already has good enough laws and penalties to address crime.

Also, the hosts talk extensively about SFR's ongoing battle for public records with the governor's office and why the state could owe SFR more than $18,000. For background, read about SFR's public records trouble here.

The Weekly Word podcast is a partnership with the New Mexico Telegram and is hosted by SFR's Joey Peters and NMT's Matthew Reichbach. Subscribe to the Weekly Word on iTunes or listen below.
