SOTU: Guardian Does Story SFR Did Last Month

Politicians Get Dumber, But SFR Knew That a Month Ago

By Alexa Schirtzinger
Martinez 2013 State of the State copy

And now for a little self-promotion, since you're all so bent out of shape about the Love & Sex issue...Your community alt-weekly is a month ahead of the UK's poshest print product, The Guardian. No, seriously.

Last month, SFR reported on Gov. Susana Martinez' State of the State speech. We compared the reading level of Martinez' speech to State of the State of the Union speeches dating back to George Washington, which showed that not only are we as Americans getting dumber with time, but also that most politicians get dumber over the course of their term (or terms) in office.

Today, the Guardian did an (admittedly much more comprehensive, not to mention prettier) version of that story.

So, see? We are bringing you the goods. Sometimes we just throw in a little naked-toy porn for good measure.
