Rock You Like a Hurricane (Sandy)

Cowgirl hosts a musical benefit for Sandy victims

By Loren Bienvenu
fake-hurricane-sandy-photo-cat To alleviate some of the suffering left in Sandy's wake (hundreds of casualties, tens of thousands left homeless), a group of local musicians are joining forces with the Cowgirl for an eight-hour fundraising extravaganza.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Nov. 18, from 3-11 pm. The event, co-sponsored by the Santa Fe Reporter and 98.1 Radio Free Santa Fe, is entirely free and all donations go directly to the Red Cross.

The lineup includes a who's-who of the local music scene: Joe West & the Santa Fe Revue; Jono Manson; Detroit Lightening; Catfish Hodge; Todd & The Fox; Jaka; Drastic Andrew and the Cinnamon Girls; and Trio Fiorentino featuring Laurianne Fiorentino.

If performers of this quality are willing to volunteer their skills, the least we can do is listen (and donate).
