BREAKING: Zozobra Announces New Chair

September 18, 2012, 2:00 pm
By Mia Rose Carbone

In the midst of heavy criticism over this year's burning of Old Man Gloom, the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe has appointed a new Zozobra chair.

Raymond G Sandoval, a 17-year-member of the Kiwanis club—and a nearly life-long lover of Zozobra—is taking over outgoing Zozo Volunteer Event Chairman Ray Valdez' seat.

“I’m honored to help Kiwanis carry on this important tradition, an event we love, for the city that we love," says Sandoval.

"Zozobra does so much for kids in need. It’s an amazing way for the community to celebrate its history and help children too,” he continues.

Incoming President Lynette Kennard invites "anyone who has any input to either join us and help us with Zozobra or share suggests."

Ideas on how to improve the burning? Sandoval can be reached at RSandoval@kiwanis-sf.org

May this year be filled with just enough gloom to burn the big guy in style in 2013.
