Santa Fe Remembers 9/11

By Ryan Collett
Never_forget

Mayor David Coss struck a somber tune today as he led Santa Feans through a remembrance service in honor of the lives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. Santa Fe servicemen stood behind Coss representing the American military still dedicating their lives to protecting the nation at home and abroad.

After stirring remarks in memoriam, bagpipe players and drum majors played rounds of "Amazing Grace" during which the fleets of police officers and firefighters lowered their heads in silent respect.

The remembrance was closed with a prayer, thanking those who still fight to preserve peace and blessing the memory of the lives lost.

A simple “Amen” whispered by those in the crowd did more stirring throughout the plaza at the end of the prayer than any applause could ever do.
