Is it really a surprise that Assassin's Creed would be doing well? Nope.

French developer Ubisoft announced today that the third iteration in it's incredibly popular Assassin's Creed series is well on it's way to outselling previous releases in the franchise. According to Ubisoft's Lisa Revelli, "After only three weeks of the game being available for pre-order in North America, Assassin's Creed 3 has made history for Ubisoft with reserves for the title being higher than any previous game in the same time period." Revelli goes on to say that AC3 has received more than 10 times the number of pre-orders than the previous game in the series, Revelations.

Assassin's Creed 3 moves the iconic series into 1700s America and the Revolutionary War. Ubisoft has been tight-lipped about certain specifics, but we do know that this title will bring an end to the perilous tale of longtime protagonist Desmond Miles. Fans of previous assassin's found within the franchise may find it hard to let Altaïr and Ezio go, but whoever the new assassin is, you can be sure he will kick some serious ass.
