Game On!

Battelfield 3 fans get pumped!

Finally! Battlefield 3 expands!

Electronic Arts (EA) announced today that developer DICE will release three upcoming DLC expansion packs for mega-hit FPS, Battlefield 3

According to BF3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach, “Instead of delivering piecemeal map packs, we’re giving players a completely new experience with every themed expansion pack to keep the action fresh. Our expansions are designed to excite our large and active fan base while attracting new recruits with gameplay that is dynamic and unpredictable every time.”

Though it wasn't flat-out stated, Bach seemed to be eluding to Call of Duty's Season of DLC—a series of new multiplayer maps and missions currently underway that continues to release for the next seven months. There is no love lost between the two titans of FPS mastery, but Battlefield's DLC has been conspicuously absent since the Back to Karkand expansions released some months ago, and it's about time BF offered us gamers something new.

Releasing this June and interspersed through the winter time, the DLC expansion packs include:

Close Quarters: Vehicles have been left out of this infantry-only series of multiplayer modes as the much-touted destruction pwered by DICE's proprietary Frostbite 2.0 engine becomes more realistic than ever.

End Game: New drivable tanks, ATVs, artillery and more. Perfect for those nerds that can't seem to kill anyone without a vehicle (seriously—get it together, and use the effing guns!)

End Game: DICE is keeping quiet on this one for now, but you can look to sfreporter.com for upcoming details.
