On Jan. 2, readers of women's issues website Jezebel, the partner site to Gawker, voted the subject of SFR's Oct. 5 cover story, anonymous fly-in abortion doctor Clara Taylor, the woman of the year.SFR freelancer Sharyn Jackson profiled Taylor's life--one of anonymity and frequent airplane trips to perform abortions in places where no providers live--in a cover story titled "Undercover," in the Oct. 5 issue of SFR.
The anti-abortion group Operation Rescue later picked up the story--as did Jezebel--and claimed to know the doctor's identity, thereby "outing" her.
Although SFR will not confirm or deny OR's claim, it's clear plenty of Jezebel readers support Taylor's mission.
