Ski Santa Fe 'Can't Commit' to Thanksgiving Opening

Sipapu plans to open this weekend

By Alexa Schirtzinger
ski1.-l Ski Santa Fe has announced it can't commit to opening Thanksgiving weekend, but that "management is still hopeful" for a late November opening.

Ski Santa Fe currently has a 15-inch base and continues to make snow.

Sipapu, on the other hand, is slated to open Saturday, Nov. 19, the earliest of any ski resort in the state, and plans to stay open through the end of Thanksgiving week. Lift tickets this Saturday are discounted (a steal at $20 for adults), and the resort offers free lodging for regular $44 tickets Thanksgiving week.

Taos Ski Valley, which has a 25-inch base, plans to open Thanksgiving day (Nov. 24). Pajarito reported a 0-inch base on Tuesday.
