Today, Jerome Block Jr. tendered his official resignation from the PRC, effective Friday, Oct. 7. In a news release, Chairman Pat Lyons says the PRC's eager to move on.
Block agreed to resign Sept. 28, in a deal that included his pleading guilty to various charges of embezzlement, fraud, identity theft and election violations.
In his formal resignation letter, Block writes that "it has truly been a pleasure serving the people of New Mexico." Read the full letter below.
Along with Block's resignation after a scandal-plagued campaign and partial PRC term, the commission released a statement saying it "looks forward to getting back to business."
