Cool Cozy

SFR goes in search of the tree cozy we like, too.

By Rani Molla
treecozy

A few weeks ago, someone knit a tree cozy around a tree near SFR's offices. It could be a red squid or a ghost from Pac Man—either way, we like it and apparently someone else does, too.

Above our (well, the tree's) cozy, someone placed a Facebook "like" sticker, and we "like" that as well.

We inquired about the cozy and have been told that some have popped up in Albuquerque. If you've seen others, please take a picture and send it to culture@sfreporter.com with location info.

Thanks!

It's called yarnbombing or guerilla knitting, apparently. Flickr has some groups devoted to it: http://www.flickr.com/groups/guerilla-knitting/
