How To Build An Elephant

Fredrick Prescott's ELEPHANT WALK stands tall in front of Warehouse 21

By Mike Zolnick

Fredrick Prescott's 6,000 pound, life-size elephant sculpture will sit outside Warehouse 21 as part of the "ELEPHANT WALK" exhibit. But first, he had to assemble it. Check out a slideshow of the construction after the jump.

Local artist Prescott's giant steel elephant, which placed in the ArtPrize 2010's Top 10 awards this fall, will guard Warehouse 21 for the first half of 2011. Head over on a windy day to see the kinetic sculpture come to life as the head of this full-sized bull elephant sways in the cold snowy air.
