Today, the national Drug Policy Alliance released a new political ad aimed at publicizing Susana Martinez' stance against New Mexico's medical cannabis program.
Watch the ad, which features Dr. Steve Jenison (a member of the cannabis program's Medical Advisory Board) and a sampling of patients, here.
There's no embed code available, so for now, here's the transcript (courtesy of DPA):
DISABLED NAVY VETERAN: I’m in constant pain from service to my country.
DISABLED CONSTRUCTION WORKER: I’m disabled with a spinal injury.
SENIOR CITIZEN: I’ve got full-blown AIDS.
WORKER: But we are lucky to live in New Mexico...
VETERAN: Because medical marijuana is the only treatment...
SENIOR CITIZEN: ...that works for us.
DOCTOR: We have the best and tightest-run program in America. It’s a model for the rest of the country.
WORKER: Now Susana Martinez wants to take away my medicine.
VETERAN: Don’t take away my medicine.
SENIOR CITIZEN: I just want to hold my grandchildren.
DOCTOR: How much suffering is enough?
Look, I like smoking pot as much as the next guy, but saying it's medicine is BS......I'm all for it being legal, but this ad is BS
hey rusty were did u get ur phd in pharmacology????
Rusty,
I hope you or your loved ones never know the pain and agony the 3,000 patients live with on a daily basis.
Walk a mile in my shoes, then let's see what kind of tune you sing then!..... BS indeed!
Pain happens everyday, doping them up doesn't really help their pain.....maybe yours.....this is nothing more than a bunch of self righteous dope heads wanting to get high and have the goverment pick up most of the bill
No Sale, don't feel sorry for my loved one's since I could give a rip about yours
Rusty, you are an uneducated ASS-H**E! Cannabis is the only thing that has kept a friend of mine from being blind as we speak. He is in the final stages of glaucoma. When he was first diagnosed, he went on all of the prescribed medications, no change. Several months went by with just prescribed medications, still no change. I recomended he start smoking POT, to thwart the effects, he did. WITHIN THE NEXT FOLLOWING MONTHS, his dr stated that the condition had slowed down and the medication appeared to be working. To which my friend told his md about the smoking. He also had stopped taking the LEGAL DRUGS. HIS DOCTOR TOLD HIM THAT ALTHOUGH HE CANNOT PRESCRIBE CANNABIS TO HIM, HE SHOULD CONTINUE ITS' USAGE BECAUSE IT WAS SLOWING DOWN THE PROGRESSION OF HIS GLAUCOMA. Just one instance. Mine, I have spinal stenosis, and have a choice of either taking oxycodone for pain relief and stay home to become an invalid, or combine the symbiotic effects attributed to cannabis and nsaids and the psyche. You, sir, are an uninformed bafoon who speaks out your ass. Get educated on the subject before you open your mouth(posts) and insert your FOOT!!Dumbass.
