4 more hours to VOTE!

By Alexa Schirtzinger
sfccbond3  If you want a say on whether Santa Fe Community College gets $35 million in bond funding for a new higher ed center, greener buses and lights and some other, more routine improvements, get out and VOTE! Polls close at 7 pm. Polling places are after the jump.

Around lunchtime, I dropped by the Santa Fe Public Schools HQ to cast my vote. The poll workers couldn't agree on whether I was the 82nd or 84th person to vote, but they had no doubts I was by far the youngest.

Though it seems kind of silly that you have to be over 18 to vote on what could very well determine your town's education options, there's still a healthy gap between my age and the minimum. So go! Now! Polls are open until 7pm.

I'm in Precinct 51 and went to Chaparral at 7:30 this morning to vote only to find yellow tape blocking both driveways and equipment trucks parked in one of them. There were no signs about voting so I left. When I got to work I called the County Clerk's office. I was told they were aware of the situation and were working to rectify it and to put up visible voting signs. However, as the anticipated turn out is low, this only discouraged people who wanted to vote from doing so. However, I will return to Chaparral after 5:00 though.
